USO Saudi Arabia Volunteer Chosen as EMEA Volunteer of Quarter IV
USO Europe, Middle East and Africa would like to congratulate Zachary Clifford, our EMEA Volunteer of Quarter IV.
Zach has been a crucial volunteer for USO Saudi Arabia, contributing so much to the team. He has helped to establish a new standard for volunteers and has worked to train new volunteers over multiple rotations. By doing this, he has ensured the USO’s volunteer support team was ready to execute the mission at a high level of professionalism, but also fun.
After volunteering with the USO for nearly a full year, Zach had supported over 100 programs, including multiple outreach events. He made a noticeable effort to be at each event he was able to attend and set an example of excellence for his peers. At each event, Zach would jump in and help from the first moment of set up all the way through clean-up, which can often be a grueling task with our method of washing dishes in a bucket.
The Saudi Arabia team unanimously decided that they needed to create a senior volunteer position, specifically for Zach, due to his level of responsibility, decision making and customer service skills.
As a senior volunteer, Zach helped train 18 new volunteers and also recruited several of them. While being an exemplary volunteer, Zach also made sure to have fun and enjoy each event. USO staff has received several comments naming him specifically, letting them know how friendly and welcoming he is to patrons.
Are you interested in volunteering with the USO and helping support the people who serve in the U.S. military? Then visit our website. No matter your skill set, there is a place for you at one of our many centers across the globe.
